What a terrific story collection for early readers. It's a nice mix of stories from the adventurous to the hilarious to the fantastic. The pictures truly tell the story so the reader is getting some sophisticated action while reading level appropriate words. Once you finish the story about the bubbles which get out of control, then you're off to the land of trying to find a glue substitute. Hmm...perhaps honey or bandaids? Then, the imagination kicks in on as a boy is stuck home sick in bed with nothing to do. Ahh, but the things he can imagine...now that's another story. Finally, a boy asks his mother for another hot dog only to find he has become a hot dog and he doesn't like the look in the eye of his now salivating pet dog. Run for it! The stories are real page turners and because this is a Rookie Reader Treasury there are even activities at the end of the book to reinforce and expand the learning process.
