Owen is different. The other children don't accept him. Owen has a place where he goes to be alone - the Den. One day he goes to his Den, and when he heads back home, he realizes everything has changed. Even his house has disappeared. Where is everyone? Where is everything? In this topsy-turvy time, Owen stumbles on a small band of people, the Wakeful, who have appeared to fight against the Harsh, a group of people who want to turn time back to the point where nothing will exist. When they attack you, you feel yourself turning colder and colder. Someone among the Wakeful will be "The Navigator" who will lead them to victory over the Harsh. Who could that someone be, and what challenges lie in store for the Wakeful? Ages 9-12
