Cat Found

Stray cats are taking over Billy’s town, and citizens are pressuring city leaders to fix the problem. Many in the town are openly abusing the cats, throwing things at them and trying to drive them away. When Billy finds an abandoned, injured stray, he takes her home and cares for her being careful to keep her hidden from his parents. Billy’s dad is not a fan of cats, and Billy knows he would not hesitate to take the cat away. Billy and his friends conspire to come up with a way to convince the town to find a safe way to take care of the cats. A tender story that shows the importance of caring for strays. Be advised that some descriptions of the abuse the cats suffer might be upsetting to sensitive readers, but Lee includes characters that sympathize with the situation and are able to explain and “ease” the reader through these rough parts. This story will probably spur many readers to make sure strays are taken care of in their communities. Animal (especially cat) lovers will enjoy this touching story of one boy who works to make a difference in these unwanted animals lives.   176 pages
