11 Birthdays

Amanda should be really excited. She's waking up to her eleventh birthday. But, last year on this day, her best friend, Leo, who shares her birth date, hurt Amanda's feelings and for this entire year they haven't spoken to each other. As the day rolls along, Amanda finds her father is sick, her best friend makes the gymnastics team and Amanda doesn't, and only eight kids come to her party and they don't really want to be there. Can it get any worse? Yes it can because when Amanda wakes up the next day it's her eleventh birthday all over again. I mean she has to relive the whole nightmare. The next day it all repeats again. Little by little Amanda starts to change how she handles all the little events of the day. She and Leo may have to make up and work together as a team if they're ever going to have the day after their birthday. As Amanda and Leo repeat the day over and over, they learn how their choices and how they treat others can have a big effect on their happiness. It's a great lesson. You can change some things but not all things. Make a difference where you can. 272 pages

I like this book because it is very interesting. Amanda's 11th birthday keeps repeating. She didn't like her day at school, or her party, so it is not fun that her b-day keeps happening. This book is a twist on a normal suburban life. Read it - it is a quick read!
