Rising Star of Rusty Nail

"And my father bought the first television in Rusty Nail and we get two channels; and I got to take special piano lessons in Minnesota," brags Nancy. "Oh brother," says Sandy as she writes a note and passes it to Franny. The note says, "Give me your gum and you know why." Sandy is about to take the long walk to the principal's office. Franny is so jealous of Nancy. Franny dreams of being a concert pianist but she has long since learned anything the town piano teacher could offer her. Then, a miracle happens. Olga Malenkov appears in town and she gives piano lessons. Franny could take lessons from her. But, Olga is Russian and this is 1953. Is she a commie? Is she a spy? Is Franny safe and why is Olga offering to help Nancy too?
