High school senior, Kate Malone, is waiting for her acceptance letter from MIT so she can proceed with her life in orderly fashion. Unbeknownst to her family and friends, MIT is the only school she applied to. There are no safety schools waiting to catch her if she falls. Her boyfriend, Mitch, already has his letter taking him on to Harvard. High school is a tough incubator as Kate is about to learn through her own experience and through crossing paths with Teri, an outcast at school, who suddenly moves into Kate’s structured, goal-oriented world.
