Ten-year-old Moon Blake has been living in the wilds with his father for years. He knows how to build a fire without matches and how to make his own bow and arrow out of sticks and sinew. When his father dies, Moon plans to survive on his own and do what his father told him: stay away from the government. But unfortunately Moon's path takes him into the outside world and he becomes determined to live on his own. The law has a difference of opinion.
