When I got this book from the UPS guy, I had to open it.  We're talking a solid black cover with simple gold words and a dog on a leash.  Plus the words  Cynthia Rylant and Marla Frazee.

This is a collection of 16 poems previously published in IF GOD WENT TO BEAUTY SCHOOL and this time they are illustrated by the whimsical genius of Marla Frazee.  Both of these professionals really enjoy bringing a greater being to we who inhabit this planet.

In these poems God tries on all sorts of identities easily reflecting the God particles in all of us regardless of race, age, gender, creed...shoe size..you name it.  God has fun.  God tries spaghetti.  God gets his nails done.  God gets cranky.  She writes a book.  God writes a fan letter and is told to get a life.

This is a playful and thoughtful version of God and it takes your spirits and sends them soaring.  How would God do this thing we call life on Earth?  What would she think of her aging body?  How would he do at ice skating?  Two creative, imaginative and twinkling celestial beings have given us their version.  Talk about a great gift book.  Not just for kids... we older "children' will enjoy it too.
