In this unique approach to poetry for the reluctant, the author does a wonderful job of pairing haiku’s 17-syllable form with contemporary vocabulary. The result is sure to tickle any male (or female) reader, poetry lover or not. Reynolds’ jaunty, playful illustrations (similar to his work in Dot and Ish) capture boys at play throughout the seasons and do much to complement the text of each poem. A great introduction to this format for those who wish to dip their toes into the pond of poetry and terrific fun for anyone already “immersed in verse”.
