Walk in London

What a perfect sunny day for a young girl and her mother to see the sights in London!

Riding a red double-decker bus, hearing Big Ben chime the hour, watching the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace – the young narrator enjoys people-watching, bird-watching, and riding a lion statue as she and Mom tour Westminster and St. James Park.

Uh, oh! It starts to rain, as it so often does in London, and they’ve forgotten their umbrellas! Luckily, a nearby shop sells them, so the pair continues their walking adventure, crossing into the oldest part of Great Britain’s capital city to see the Crown Jewels and the Tower of London.

Many side-notes bring interesting facts to young listeners throughout Rubbino’s painted scenes of London, where readers will hasten to pick out intricate details of city life, from the ever-present tourists with their cameras to the young girl and her mother in every scene large or small.

Take time to pore over the double-foldout panorama sketch-painting of the Thames River winding through the heart of London, with well-known landmarks and buildings on display.
