This story reminds me of Sims Taback’s Joseph’s Overcoat. It is a story of how Mama changes the girl’s “favorite dress, bestest dress” as she grows or wear and tear happens. The illustrations reflect the active lifestyle of the girl. The light pastel colors reflect the happy, lightness of accepting change.
