A girl named Sarah takes a walk through the jungle where she meets a lion who challenges her presence in his jungle. When she doesn’t give him a satisfactory answer, he decides to have her as his lunch. Chamberlain’s color pallet is bright and bold, and the jungle beasts are drawn friendly enough that no one could possibly believe the lion’s bluster about eating little Sarah. Spunky Sarah bargains to show a talent no one else in the jungle has to keep from becoming lunch—her ability to draw. Seeing himself through another’s eyes as a bully, the lion reforms. Underneath the story line is the author’s use of vibrant vocabulary which could lead to discussions on descriptive word choices in writing. 32 pages Ages 4-7
