Bridget's Beret

Bridget loves to draw and her favorite place to draw is outdoors. She creates masterpiece after masterpiece using her art supplies but her most important tool isn't paint or paper...it's a big black hat. It is, in fact, a beret which as we all know is the "kind of hat that lots of Great Artists wear."

But on this day a big gust of wind catches hold of the beret and whisks it away. Bridget is bereft over the beret. She can no longer draw. She files a "Missing Beret Report." She tries on other hats. But her inspiration is gone, gone , gone with the wind.

It appears the art career has careened to an end until her liittle sister Jessie asks Bridget to make a sign to advertise her upcoming lemonade stand. Ahh, there is nothing like an artistic commission to get the grumpiest of artists back to the easel. Andy Warhol, Vincent Van Gogh, Whistler and even Uncle Sam are celebrated in her masterpieces. Bridget has been drawn back to her rightful place.
