The Busy Tree

Trees and Wow -that about sums this one up. If you're a teacher or a parent and you're trying to give children a sense of wonder and a sense of appreciation for trees and nature, it's going to be hard to do better than this one. The pictures are just incredible. Take the one with the sun rising or setting on a tree with a spider web beautifully woven between its branches. Talk about inspiring. Trees don't stand alone. They are homes and sources of food and they are highways and they hold nests and cocoons. You see what I mean? They start out as little seeds that even children can plant (how empowering) and they reach their branches out, out, out to the world. What a great read aloud for a unit on trees or on how everything is connected to everything else. Awesome!
