When Gilbert and Lola go to sit on Santa's lap, Lola thinks she sees Santa while they're waiting in line. Gilbert explains to her that what she is seeing is not Santa. It's an elf. Lola's mother and father both exclaim that they could use an elf to help them with all the Christmas jobs they have to do. So, Lola gets her hat and her sack and dons the uniform of an elf. She is going to be a helper. Half the fun of this book is looking at the page, reading the story and then lifting the flap to see what's really going on behind the scenes. The Gilbert and Friends series continues.
