What did a microbe ever do for you? Plenty it turns out. This highly informative book takes a look at how microbes play a role in so many things in our lives. We would not have cheese, bread, or chocolate if we didn't have microbes working for us. For that matter we wouldn't digest our food without microbes either and by now most people have heard that we are hoping for some help from microbes in dealing with the giant BP oil spill in the Gulf. These tiny little beings pack quite a punch in our world including helping with our water treatment processes. Great book for kids who like to know what's going on behind the scene and how things work. Disgusting enough for some and informative enough for all. 176 pages Ages 12 and up
