Children with autistic spectrum disorder have a difficult time dealing with daily routine activities. But, when given pictures or allowed to play the activity, some struggles may be eased. This is a simple book of photographs and descriptions of washing hands, brushing teeth, taking a bath, going to the doctor and getting a haircut. At the beginning of each topic there is an explanation for the child about the task and why it's important. Then, there is a series of photographs with real children taking a bath or brushing their teeth. Clear, simple text accompanies the pictures. At the end of each chapter is a list of suggestions for how to "teach" the task to your child so they can be comfortable with it.
