Stand-out Zoe Sharp and her seemingly less talented sister and brother, Franny and J.D., are headed to the fabulous Allbright Academy. On the school tour the Sharp family looks in wonder at the perfect dorm rooms, the perfect meals, the perfect students ... and those really great brownies that appear at every meal. Later, though, when Franny goes home for a break and sees her old friend, Beamer, she begins to get the hint that all may not be what it seems. Beamer's hair is so wrong and his manners so lacking .... Her new friend from school, Brooklyn, has cut his dreadlocks and stopped writing poetry.
