A young man has relocated to Massachusetts after just being found not guilty of killing his girlfriend. He comes to live with his aunt and uncle and his young cousin. His cousin, Lily, does not want anything to do with him. Slowly, the story unfolds: the young cousin has also experienced a tragedy - their house had burned down and her older sister was trapped in the bathtub during the fire.
