Good for Reluctant Readers?
Part of a Series

This is a wonderfful Early Step Into Reading book about a warmly dressed little girl who is standing out in a snowy wonderland of great sledding hills. She sees a precariously balanced snowball and watches as it plummets from its perch and starts racing down the hill. As the snowball rolls along it picks up kids on skis and kids on sleds and the random rabbit. It just keeps on rolling and the pace and the faces make this a laugh out loud reader. It begins to look like an hors d'oeuvre as it goes along with ski tips and poles and ears sticking out of it at all angles. There it goes full of Pete, Bill and Clyde and who knows what's going to be next. Simple sentences and wonderful, comic illustrations put a smile on your face and keep it there. Ages 4-7 32 pages
