Sometimes a little blue dragon who lives all by himself in a little house gets lonely and needs a friend. Being a dragon of action he heads off to make a friend. "Will you be my friend?" he asks animal after animal. No one is interested until an apple falls from a tree and hits Dragon on the head. A wily snake passing by unseen plays a joke on Dragon and speaks for the apple and has the apple agree to become Dragon's new friend. Now what is a friend exactly? Someone who listens well, someone who shares, and someone who has things in common with you. Apple does all of these things quite well until the day Apple does not wake up and does not speak. Dragon in a state of great concern takes Apple to the doctor. This is a story of friendship, loss and resilience. The intertwining of the humor and sensitivity create a story that entertains, connects and offers food for thought. 48 pages Ages 4-8
