Koumail, accompanied by a woman named Gloria, is fleeing across the Caucasus heading to France. She has told Koumail she rescued him from a train wreck. She came upon the wreck and found him as a baby uninjured with his dead mother. Their passport indicated they were headed to France. Gloria makes it her life's work to get him to France. The journey is fraught with danger and by wit and manipulation they eventually make it. The real motivation behind the frantic trip is revealed years later when the two travelers get reunited. An amazing read. For the gifted reader who loves a good story with dramatic highlights and exceptional climax.
