Little Leap Forward is an eight-year-old boy with a great imagination growing up in China. He sees the bees dance and he imagines that his silkworms dance to. He is on the journey to find out who he is. His journey is set in modern day China and Little Leap Forward is about to learn about flying a kite, keeping a wild bird and being free. The story is about the value of freedom during the changing times of China.
