Bear and Crispin have solved the mystery of Crispin's identity and have escaped the walls of Great Wexly. They set forth to create a new life for themselves, but, immediately, they find themselves set upon by those who previously were co-conspirators. Their flight leaves Bear weakened and then casts them into the care of a strange pair. The journey continues....
