Adam Canfield is the new co-editor of the school newspaper, The Slash. He and Jennifer are joined by a precocious third grader named Phoebe who has a nose for the news. Beyond the stories about the janitor and the smile contest, their advisor is asking them to investigate why an elderly woman, Minnie has donated money to the school and since she died alone the question is what was her connection to this school? They are about to find themselves up against the powers that be. Ages 9-12 336 pages (Curious to me that they chose to have the third grader describe a story as crappy.)
