Ten year old Jonathan feels a strong connection to wild animals and befriends a brown bear cub and draws in into his father's zoo where it kills a goose, one of the zoo's main most popular animal attractions.
As the story unfolds, Jonathan feels first the affection and bond with the bear and then feels the sorrow that the goose is gone and the anger that the bear killed it.
Gradually he sorts out his feelings and comes to the understanding that wild creatures will be true to their nature. Ages 8-10 128 pages
