Plucky Poppy has lost the love of her life, Ragweed, to the preying owl and now she and the porcupine, Ereth, are setting forth to Ragweed's old community to tell his parents the bad news. Once they arrive, they learn things aren't quite as Ragweed had described them. The community is in the throes of change and the beavers are set on developing more than their fair share of the area squeezing the mice out of what is rightfully theirs.
