Our story begins in London as James is holed up in his cousin's apartment while his musical mother prepares for performances. A magical portal beckons James back in time, and he eventually finds himself caught there, a bi-racial boy with the voice of a canary. The quality of his voice will lead him to the Children of the Chapel Royal and a possible performance for Elizabeth I. How can he escape and return to the family and times of his birth?
