Sam, a sarcastic but well-meaning college dropout, is satisfied flipping burgers for a living alongside his close friends until, one day, a menacing necromancer named Douglas reveals Sam’s hidden powers. Sam discovers that he is unwittingly invading Douglas’ territory. He is forced to confront his family and deal with his new identity, all the while fighting Douglas and other fantastic creatures for everything he loves. Along the way, he meets a cast of magical characters, including a pretty, spunky werewolf girl. This book is darkly humorous throughout, but also contains many elements of horror.
