Lucy and the Green Man Lucy and the Green Man

Lucy and the Green Man

Grandpa Will always tells Lucy that you have to be a special person to see Lob, the green man who helps in his garden. She knows it’s true, and she’s excited the first time she catches a glimpse of him. But when Grandpa Will dies unexpectedly and the cottage with its garden is sold, where will Lob go? Lucy hopes he’ll come to her, even though she lives in London and has no garden. But she waits, and she waits, and Lob doesn’t come. Was he ever real? Or was he just part of a special game she played with Grandpa Will?

Lucy and the Green Man is a lovely book about belief, and the beauty of a child’s sense of wonder that some people manage to hold on to their whole lives.
