Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy have only been gone from the enchanting land of Narnia for a year, or so they initially believed. They were all on their way back to boarding school when they were called back to Narnia by the friendly beasts and people of Narnia in a time of dire need.

When the four arrive in Narnia, they find themselves lost among silent trees, animals with no voice, and a castle of ruins. They can hardly recognize where they are because in Narnia, time flies at its own pace, whether it be faster or slower. In this case, many centuries have passed and now a fierce Telmarine human has taken reign over Narnia, suppressing all that was magical and enchanting. The talking animals, dwarves, centaurs, and giants that remain all live in hiding while the tree and water spirits sleep.

When Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy finally regain their bearings, with the help of Trumpkin the Dwarf and Aslan, the sibling royalty undergo one of their last battles to set things right in Narnia.

Not the best in the series, but still light-years ahead of most other childrens' books. Well worth your time.
