Orphaned Ray "Fleming" holds the lodestone his father gave to him before he left and allows the stone to lead him. This time the stone has directed him south and dropped him into a Medicine Show with a cast of amazing characters. But, Ray has dreams-nightmares- about the Gog's hoarhound. Day by day strange things appear. The people of the Medicine Show have wondrous abilities. Ray is seeking the sister he chose to leave behind and the possibility that his father might still be alive. Can they outrun the Hound and outwit the Gog? This tale is a mix of magic and southern folklore.
