This is a fabulous tale of a boy, who stows away on a ship (the Flying Dutchman) and becomes a cook's helper. When the ship stalls out along the coast of South America and the resources dwindle away, the boy and his dog wash up onto the shore and begin a journey of great adventure and of great good deeds for those in need.
