Personally, I feel that Dave Barry had his tongue in his cheek the entire time he was writing this book with Ridley Pearson. It's a hilarious tale of a young member of the Mollusk tribe, Little Scallop, and the trouble she gets into when she goes to swim with the mermaids against the sage advice of her father, Fighting Prawn. The names alone will send you under the table! This tale would delight a young reader who is looking for a bit of adventure in her/his magical world.
